Our department (the Department of Communication & Media at CSUSB, UH-018 / UH-017) is offering internship opportunities for any student on campus who is interested in gaining experience researching the effectiveness of social media presence, generating and developing social media campaigns, creating social media content, monitoring and evaluating social media outputs, etc.
These internships will meet the requirements of:
COMM 5792 Internship in Communication (2 units)
COMM 5793 Internship in Communication (3 units)
COMM 5794 Internship in Communication (4 units)
(or equivalent internships from other departments, and/or volunteer internships for no-credit)
We have multiple opportunities across the next few semesters:
Summer 2025 - x6 internships
Fall 2025 - x6 internships
Spring 2026 - x6 internships
Internship Duties/Tasks:
This is an indicative list of possible duties.
- Creating campaigns to promote the department, programs, courses, and clubs
- Creating content for social media (videos, photos, writing, graphic design)
- Assisting managing department social media accounts
- Researching other departments' social media presence
- Applying best practices for accessibility and efficacy for social media posting
- Researching student and faculty perceptions and needs from department social media presence
- Interviewing faculty, staff, and students for short reels
- Creating challenges
- Monitoring and evaluating effectiveness of campaigns and content
- Other miscellaneous social media needs, as required ...
