Peer Mental Health Educator -Internship-
This position reports to the Office of Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS). CAPS provides mental health services to the CSUSB student body. These services consist of groups, workshops, and various outreach to CSUSB students. Interns will work directly with the CAPS Workshop Coordinators, who will delegate day-to-day tasks and duties supporting CAPS outreach activities. The position's primary purposes are to promote CAPS outreach, share the importance of mental health, provide information about campus and community resources, engage in and create social media content, and take an active role in fighting mental health stigma.
Responsibilties & Duties
- Promote CAPS services, mental health psychoeducation, and resources.
- Manage social media platforms;
-Instagram, Canva, TikTok, Zoom, G-Suite, YouTube, Spotify.
- Design flyers, social media posts, videos
- Create mental health-related content for social media
-Schedule posts and stories
-Engage with influencers
-Respond to DM’s
- Support our Health & Wellness program
-Assist with administrative duties
-Assist with production duties
-Program development and mental health-related topics
- Attend outreach and tabling.
Position Requirements
Commitment:
- The commitment would be up to approx. 200 hours each semester (10-15 hours/week)
- In-person on the CSUSB main campus.
- Position is unpaid.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must maintain a 2.5 G.P.A. per semester & cumulative.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Available to work on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10 am - to 1:30 pm.
- General knowledge & interest in mental health
